American Holly
American holly is a broadleaved evergreen tree. Its foliage and berries have made it a popular holiday tree for centuries. It is also known as white holly and Christmas holly. American holly is a small- to medium-sized tree that typically grows 40 to 50 feet tall and one to two feet in diameter. The trees grow slowly and typically reach maturity between 100 to 150 years. The tree has short, crooked branches and the crown is typically rounded to pyramidal in shape. In addition to being a popular holiday tree, it is also a widely used landscape tree, and the berries are a favorite of many bird species.
