Join us on June 4th, 2025 from 11 A.M. -12 P.M. for our From The Woods Today episode with Dr. Jonathan Larson from the University of Kentucky Entomology Department, joins us to explain how fireflies light up and what their glow is used for. Dr. Larson will also go into more detailed about fireflies so don’t forget to join us! Later on, Billy Thomas from the University of Kentucky Forestry and Natural Resources Department will join us for a segment called Made in the Shade: How Shade Tolerance Influences Woodlands and Their Management Shade tolerance refers to a tree’s ability to grow and thrive in various light levels. Join us as we explore this key concept and how we can use it to better manage woodlands.
