This project is supported by a USDA Landscape Scale Restoration Grant that was awarded to the University of Kentucky and partner states. Partner states received funding to allow agency foresters to attend this training opportunity. Foresters outside of those state agencies are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Training Includes:

  • Training on white oak stand dynamics and biology.
  • Information on white oak silvicultural practices.
  • Introduction to a new white oak mobile app.
  • Discussion about non-traditional silvicultural practices, & emerging practices for white oak management.

September 4th

Indoor session

Day 1 will be held at the Hilton Downtown in the Magnolia Room and will include presentations and training from leading experts in the region.

September 5th

Field session

2047 Big Hill Rd, Berea, KY

Day 2 will take place out in the field to incorporate hands-on activities highlighting white oak management and silvicultural practices.
