Forestry Webinar Series

Forestry Webinar Series

Kentucky woodland owners and other interested individuals are invited to participate in upcoming webinars and view recorded Forestry Webinars. The Forestry Webinars are hosted by various County Extension Offices and can also be viewed from any computer with a high speed internet connection.

Forestry webinars are an excellent opportunity to get a significant amount of forestry-related information in a relatively short time, without having to drive great distances to attend.  Make plans now to join us for an upcoming LIVE webinar or click on previously recorded webinars button to view past webinars.

Every Webinar is unique from the topic to the information it provides. Even the location itself is unique. With some webinars, attendees may view it in the privacy of their own homes and others require visiting a host site.

So that everyone can benefit from these Webinars, UK Forestry Extension has teamed up with several Extension Offices around the state to deliver/host webinars. This gives another option to people who may not have a computer.

If you wish to attend a Webinar, please look at the location information posted under it in the Upcoming Webinars section of this site.

What is a Webinar?
Webinars are essentially a “web-based seminar”. These “seminars” are used to conduct live meetings or presentations via the Internet where participants sit at their own computer(s) and are connected to other participants via the web. Participants may also partake in Webinars by visiting a site that is hosting one such as an Extension Office.

One important feature of a Webinar is its interactive capabilities. These capabilities allow the presenter to disseminate and discuss information all in real time. It also allows attendees to participate by asking questions and viewing information.

The valuable aspect of a webinar is the cost-factor. It saves participants, as well as presenter’s, time and money as both can be in any part of the country but still communicate and learn and discuss the topics needed.
